Khaled Hosseini

Summary:

This novel was written by Khaled Hosseini, an Afghan-American author.

Awarded for lots of prizes, the book is really a success and known for millions of people.

It's embarrassed to say this, but I have owned this book for a while w/o reading it and it was not until today that I flipped open it and buried myself into this classic. I took less than one day to finish this one, which could also prove how great this novel is.

With first- person narrators, in the very beginning, this book start with the main character Amir and his best friend Hassan. The story setting is in Afghanistan. Other than English, novelist also put some local Afghanistan language into it. As plot went, something happened (I DON'T WANNA SPLIT IT, which make things went weird between Amir and Hassan

Not before long, Hassan and his father (it turned out not actually) left.

Several years later, Amir and his father immigrated to America. When Amir back to Afghanistan again, it was his time to face what he had done long time ago.

Review:

Extremely recommend read this novel. The original version is easily read as well. Grammar and vocabulary are easy, really suitable for people who want to practice their English.

In the beginning, I was a little bit worried that it would be too boring for me to read and it turned out I thought too much.

There are some parts moves me a lot and I cried several times to be honest.

Not regret ordering this book at all.

Quotes:

Sometimes, I think everything he did, feeding the poor on the streets, building the orphanage, giving money to friends in need, it was all his way of redeeming himself. And that, I believe, is what true redemption is, Amir jan, when guilt leads to good.

One time, when I was really little, I climbed a tree and ate these green, sour apples. My stomach swelled and became hard like a drum, it hurt a lot. Mother said that if I'd just waited for the apple to ripen, I wouldn't have become sick. So now, whenever I really want something, I try to remember what she said about the apples.
